History of Sweet-Perfections

Sweet-Perfections had its beginnings as a hobby for owner, operator Perian Webb. She attended cake decorating classes to learn the latest techniques to make cakes for her family and friends. After practicing her new skills on her willing family she began taking decorated cakes to her workplace for pot lucks; to family reunions; Boy Scout celebrations and other family activities. Soon word spread and her acquaintances, friends, neighbors, and work associates began calling and asking to buy cakes for their celebrations.
In June 1992 a family friend asked Perian to create a wedding cake for their son’s wedding. Another first, and the beginnings of Sweet-Perfections. Following her initial successes, Perian began a fevered quest to learn all she could about cake decorating and other forms of sugar art. She took all of the advanced cake decorating courses offered in the community and began traveling throughout the mid-west attending conventions of the International Cake Exploration Society (ICES) observing many other decorators, attending classes presented by some of the countries premier cake designers/decorators, attending culinary classes at Scott Community College and special classes at the Florida Culinary Institute. At the same time she found a calling in teaching others cake decorating and continues today by teaching the Wilton Method of Cake Decorating one day a week. Perian has watched several of her students launch their own careers bringing her love of cake decorating full circle.
Since those early days the company has seen steady growth as word of Perian’s unparalleled baking skills, attention to detail, creativity and personal recipes has spread throughout the Quad City area and beyond. Most recently Perian has had the extraordinary honor of being invited to create her uniquely special Wedding Cakes in Tulsa, Oklahoma, West Palm Beach, Florida and Long Island, New York. With yet another plan for Ames, Iowa and Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the future.
Customer satisfaction in quality, service and cost is easily measured when Brides and Grooms are readily referring Perian to brothers, sisters, and even their children for their Wedding Cakes. We invite you to call and make an appointment for a free, no obligation consultation to see how Sweet-Perfections can turn your wedding dreams into stunning wedding memories.
